May 13, 2023

Curing is the process of becoming hard or solid by cooling drying or crystallization.
Synonyms: hardening, set, solidification, solidifying.

Cured resin and gel coat means resin or gel coat that has been polymerized and changed from a liquid to a solid.

Some curing processes require maintenance of a certain temperature and/or humidity level, others require a certain pressure. Air curing and hot fan curing are often used for curing small production run large production runs often are cured in batches in large ovens which must be run continuously. Induction heating provides a much better solution for adhesive curing.

Curing is a key element which can severely affect durability. Good curing can help to enhance durability.
